Second time around for “Tatay Jake” – Private trial of envirolizer in Nueva Ecija, Philippines

This is the second field test trial of Tatay Jake. This test was conducted on the same farm lot he previously used envirolizer.

For this test, it was done on the wet season. The whole month August was a very rainy month. Almost all rice paddies in the area were submerged in flood waters. We were scheduled to harvest on Sept. 15 but 1 week before harvest time, Tatay Jake informed me that he had to decide to harvest earlier, though some of the crops were not fully ripened, he has to harvest because most of the plants are already submerged in water due to the heavy rains.

The harvest yielded 27 cabans of rice. The usual harvest for this plot was 20 cabans. Though disappointed, Tatay Jake still realized an increase of 35% yield in spite of most of his crop got soaked by the rain and were spoiled, while some were not yet ripe to harvest.

Applications: He did not use any chemical fertilizer for this season. He only used envirolizer and had to apply weed killer.

During the harvest, PhilRICE took notice of Tatay Jake’s harvest. In spite of the bad weather condition, he was still able to turn out an increase of yield. PhilRice has commissioned him to be their Demo farm this coming November. This time we shall test it on 1 hectare of rice field and shall be monitored and documented by PhilRice.
